Silversmith and 
Jewellery Designer

Hi I'm Meg, an aspiring Silversmith and jewellery designing with a passion for creating one of a kind, quality work. Originally from Birmingham and now living in Edinburgh, I am currently studying Jewellery &  Silversmithing at the University of Edinburgh. Before this I was lucky enough to have 3 years previous experience with Sara Priesler in her Jewellery schools and galleries in Stratford-Upon-Avon and Birmingham, who mentored me in both the skill of silversmithing and taught me much about the wider jewellery industry. 

Although my main focus is on silversmithing, I use a variety of other artistic mediums to help build my craft and inspire me including, life drawing, watercolour painting, sewing, knitting and sculpting.  I use a mixture of these skills to communicate and develop my design ideas, creating little wearable pieces of art. My work is grounded in historical, natural and material based inspirations, all merging to create whimsical and elegant pieces of jewellery. When considering a piece my main focus is to evoke a sense of fun and joy, as I believe jewellery isn't just something we wear but and physical adornment that can convey thoughts and feelings.
